Ernesto Revueltas

Ernesto Revueltas (1988), recognized for his ability to fuse poetry and painting into a single artistic expression, has left a distinctive mark on the art world. Born in Camagüey, Cuba, he grew up immersed in a literary environment, influenced by his grandfather, the renowned writer José Revueltas. Self-taught from an early age, he combined his passion for writing with his curiosity for science, which eventually led him to study electrical engineering at the Technological University of Havana.

Parallel to his university studies, Revueltas deepened his artistic inclination, participating in literary meetings and immersing himself in the artistic movement of his generation. He studied Plastic Arts at the Experimental Center of Visual Arts and broadened his knowledge at the San Alejandro National Academy of Fine Arts. His plastic work has been exhibited in numerous collective and individual exhibitions, highlighting “Sueños Cruzados” in Casa de las Américas. His style is characterized by a direct observation of daily life, nourished by a poetic spirit that is reflected in the freshness and depth of his compositions.

Influenced by masters such as Pedro de Oraá, Wifredo Lam and Jackson Pollock, Revueltas has explored new artistic horizons, inspired by his visit to the Museo Nacional del Prado in Madrid in 2015, where he found a special connection with Goya’s Black Paintings. He currently lives and works in the Principality of Andorra, where he finds inspiration in its peculiar natural environment. Ernesto Revueltas continues to challenge the limits of art and poetry, offering the world a unique and profound look through his works.
