Ernesto Benítez (1971) is a visual artist who lives and works between Palma de Mallorca, Spain and Havana, Cuba. A member of UNEAC, he has participated in exhibitions and murals with the group “Arte Calle” from 1986 to 1990. In addition, he has given workshops and lectures on anthropology in the perspective of art in cultural institutions in Cuba and Spain from 2001 to the present, being also professor of Art and Anthropology at the Higher Institute of Art in Havana between 2001 and 2005.
With a solid academic background, he has completed postgraduate studies in Philosophy, Religiosity and African Popular Culture in Cuba, as well as in Linguistic Anthropology. His work has been exhibited in numerous personal and collective exhibitions in different parts of the world, and his works are in public and private collections in several countries.
